I was at Newick Restaurant ( my cousins) on Dover Point in Dover, NH for dinner and we walked down to Great Bay! This is below the. Restaurant!Time
This was a gorgeous sunset after dinner! There was still light on the water!Lighting
I have only a built in flash but didn’t use it . I wanted the true colors to shine!Equipment
I had my NIKON D 5000 with my 300 mm nikkor lens . This was hand held and I believe I stood with my back against my husbands back. The wind was up off of Great Bay and I couldn’t stand still!!Inspiration
I take my camera everywhere. It sat on the table with me in the restaurant! Everyone expects it now so they don’t grumble about it anymore! I love sunsets. My first photo on ViewBug was a sunset from less then 5 miles away from this one. I saw the gorgeous colors and thought it would be great if I could capture the boat on the bay also!Editing
I didn’t do anything! This was when I first joined ViewBug and was a purest! Or chicken to do anything to my photos! That has changed!!! I now have light room!!In my camera bag
In my bag I always carry my 18-55 mm Nikon DX , Nikon DX 10-20 mm and my Nikon DX 55- 300 mm zoom is always on my new Nikon D 7200 as I crave birds of prey! I usually have my tripod but not always as I should! If we are going off for a chance to shoot a lot I have backpack for the other 8 lenses and camera that comes along too!Feedback
Don’t be afraid to try any shot! Digital now offers the chance to delete photos you don’t want. I have a pocket sized notebook to jot down trial and error settings on my Nikon. I take my camera everywhere 90% of the time! Last week we were in my big v10 F350 and I didn’t have my camera as we were only going to get grain for our horses......Half way home there was a gorgeous bald eagle we pulled over and watched for 29 minutes..... no camera and cell phone is useless. Take your camera with you! EVERYWHERE!!!
