Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from my porch in Jerome Arizona, looking over the Verde Valley.

Time

It was taken around 8pm.

Lighting

It seems to know you are trying to capture it, and likes to strike just outside of your frame, or in between captures.

Equipment

Nikon D750, tripod, 3 minute exposire.

Inspiration

I stepped outside onto my porch and saw the perfect opportunity to capture some lightning strikes.

Editing

I did some basic editing to make the lightning pop out a little more, as well as some color grading.

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, 24mm-120mm Nikkor f4, Nikon 70mm-200mm f2.8, and 50mm f1.8

Feedback

Adjust f-stop and iso to allow you to take as long of an exposure as you can without blowing out any detail. The longer the exposure, the more strikes you can capture.
