Location
I took this photo while in Botswana, outside a town called Selebi Phikwe.Time
It was taken in the late afternoon at around 5PM. The wind was blowing so it took me a while to get what I considered the perfect shot. As a beginner this unfortunately took some time.Lighting
Lighting, ah something I have an enormous amount to learn about. I relied on the natural light of the afternoon, which was still fairly bright in Botswana, as well as the wisdom of the auto function of the cameraEquipment
This was shot on a Nikon D5200 with a 55-200mm lensInspiration
The current conditions in the area that I was in were dry and brown. This flower stood out amongst all that.Editing
No post processing done.In my camera bag
Well at this stage I pack everything I have, the body of my D5200, the 18-55 lens and the 55-200mm lens. This with a spare battery, a memory card and an enormous amount of passionFeedback
Considering I am a total novice my advice is limited at this stage. Currently I am trying to take as many photos I can of the same object / scene etc with as many variations of the camera settings.
