Location
This picture was taken in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. Peggy's Cover is famous for their lighthouse, but the village is only a few steps away and I was just exploring when I saw this shot. The red house and boat along with the clouds just caught my eye.Time
This was taken in the morning. Funny we got lost heading to the cove as I really wanted to get there for sunrise. Glad we didn't. I liked the light when I shot it.Lighting
I'm just glad it wasn't raining. It had been raining quite a bit up in the area and this was the first day of sunshine! The morning sun made things pop.Equipment
This was shot with Olympus OMD-EM5 II, 7-14 mm lens and handheld. It was shot at 1/50, F16 ISO 250Inspiration
I was walking around Peggy's Cove village after shooting the lighthouse. The village has some wonderful colors. Colors and clouds always attract me for landscapes.Editing
I did a little bit. I'm still learning how to use PS and LR, so my post-processing is minimal. I added a bit of clarity and then tonal contrast using Nik Collection ins PS.In my camera bag
I carry everything but the kitchen sink! I have 2 OMD-EM5II and 1 OMD EM5, 7-14mm PRO, 12-40 mm PRO, 40-150 mm PRO, and 300 mm PRO.Feedback
I'm a hobbyist not a professional, so I don't give advice typically. I think being open to exploring the area. By that I mean looking in front of you, behind you, to the sides of you and walking around. People were arriving just to see the lighthouse and never explored the rest of the village. The other small piece of advice which most photographers are willing to do is to get up very early to get where you want to be in early/good light.
