Location
This photograph was taken at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai which has one of its entrances at the backside of my home. I am a self taught photographer and try to learn a new lesson with every shot.Time
This image was shot at around 7 am on a beautiful morning. It was a cold morning and I saw dew drops set on the leaves giving them a wonderful sparkle as the sun shone on them. I didn't have a zoom lens or a tripod and had to go really close in the shrubs to get this shot, not fearing a surprise from any other creature that must have been hidden there.Lighting
I didn't have any other lights apart from the natural light of the rising sun. I feel this was the perfect time for such a shot because had it been earlier, the photograph would become too dull or too bright(with camera flash).Equipment
This photograph was shot using Canon 1100D with basic 18-55mm lens. No other lens or equipment were used.Inspiration
I am pursuing management and was asked to make a presentation on my passion to test my 'presentation skills' as well as 'communication skills'. I thought that no subject would be better than 'photography' itself and decided to go with it. I wanted to add some beautiful nature shots to my credit as well as the presentation and there is no place better than the SGNP to have some time in the lap of nature in such a short time...quiet and peaceful.Editing
As part of post processing, I avoid touching up my images much as they might loose their natural beauty. I only adjusted the brightness, contrast and saturation a little. In my camera bag
At the time I took this shot, I didn't own any extra equipment apart from the camera and a 18-55mm lens. However, my parents recently bought me a 55-250mm zoom lens which I always carry with me.Feedback
Just look for the perfect time. Time plays a major role in deciding the beauty of your capture. Early mornings at the onset of winters are perfect as you can see a lot of leaves and even insects with dew drops settled on them which will give an all together different experience of shooting to you as well as others. Also, animals such as in this pic(snail) should be photographed as close to their natural habitat as possible...background is equally important.
