The photo was taken last summer in Italy, Taranto, my hometown. I adore flowers and this hibiscus is for sure one of my favourite ones. I took this photo in my garden where I have a lot of beautiful flowers.Time
It was around 4:00 PM when the sun is really "harsh" for many kinds of photos, but luckily not for macro photography, for which a lot of light is very importantLighting
I do not own much gear so what is most important for me is sun light and at times, like in this shot, a light ring which helps a lot when you know how to use and position it, of course as an addition to the sunlight. I try to work as much as possible with sunlight, because for me that is the most beautiful light to work withEquipment
This was shot with a Nikon D7200, a Sigma 105 lens macro lens, a light ring and a manfrotto tripodInspiration
Same inspiration of all my macro shots: the search of extraordinary in ordinary little things or the gifts of natureEditing
I always use Lightroom. For this photo I only adjusted few things: contrast, dehaze and highlightsIn my camera bag
In my bag there is my beloved Nikon D7200 with a Nikkor 50mm lens on board. Then I bring along my wide angle, a Sigma 20mm and a Nikkor 70/300 tele lensFeedback
Try to see the beauty in the apparently ordinary things around us. Especially, with macro, when you start to look closely to the details, you start the see the beauty in almost everything around us. And lastly, patience is very important. Try to make many pictures from different angles and with different light and settings and try to focus on various parts of your main subject.
