Location
My neighbor's cat "Hunter" trying to take advantage of an open window. This cat just couldn't pass up a nice day outside. A noble effort!Time
Late morningLighting
Nothing special about the lighting. It was outside and somewhat shaded with natural sunlight near by.Equipment
I had just received my new 50mm lens in the mail a few days prior and was testing it out.Inspiration
I had been working with my 50mm lense a lot lately, trying to capture subjects that would convey a meaning or trigger an emotion. This opportunity rather presented itself. My photojournalist professor always encouraged us to "get in close" and use the "rule of thirds" with our photography so... I have been very pleased w the results so far.Editing
I decided to go with black & white when editing bc I liked the detail and texture that this option allowed. I raised the contrast and clarity in lightroom and lowered the highlights a bit, and here we are!In my camera bag
I am pretty limited on equipment bc of budget but i carry my standard 18-135mm lens and a 50mm lens along with the typical cleaning supplies. No flashes, no tripod, no expensive lenses (yet) .Feedback
"Get in close" and use the "rule of thirds"!
