Behind The Lens

Location

There is so much open space and woods around my house. So the photo was taken just about a mile from my home. I always wanted to do something adventurous outdoors and was grateful to have a model that was just as adventurous as I am.

Time

It was during the middle of day. Close to around 4:00 PM

Lighting

We were chasing the sun a little bit. One minute it was sunny, the next it was cloudy. It was a challenge.

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon Rebel T5 with a 18-55 mm lens.

Inspiration

The model is my youngest sister, who is an up and coming fitness model. She actually called me up that day and said that she wanted to do a shoot outside, but didn't know where. I told her that the woods around me would be something fun if she was willing to venture into the woods. She said it would be great. She came by with her swimsuit a few hours later and we began shooting. She was a trooper because the trees, the grass, the shrubs were not so nice to the touch. She hung in there and we ended up having fun.

Editing

I wanted her to feel engulfed in the woods. So there wasn't too much post work other than bumping up the contrast and adjusting the hues to give it a feel that she was apart of the trees and the tall grass, as though it was her home, as though she belonged there.

In my camera bag

I always have my Canon every I go and I'm always ready to shoot. I'm inspired by so much so its vital for starters to just bring my camera.

Feedback

Its good to venture off and explore any chance you can because that helps your creative juices flow to get you thinking of new ideas. So when a new opportunity presents itself you can go into your bag of ideas and can bring out something great. Even something you never thought you could do.
