I took this photo in the Camden Lock walking down the dock. Nadine, the model and I were there looking for the right place where to shoot and we found this wall. Could we find a similar one everywhere but that place was just the right atmosphereTime
It was afternoon and was the beginning of Londoner summer, this means a very sunny day but still chill.Lighting
The spot we found wasn't in the sun but actually kind of in the shadow. At the beginning I thought it would be a problem But then I realised That actually was giving a nice and uniform enlightenment on her faceEquipment
I use only my camera, a 5D MKII with a 24-70 lens, f2.8, Usm L. Sometimes the right shot is taken simpleInspiration
The pattern of the wall, with this reddish colour was the perfect contrast with the style and look of the model, sort of monochromeEditing
I only boost the contrast and saturation, nothing more than that.In my camera bag
Depending from the job (or not) I'm doing: I'm still carrying an analog camera for random shots but If I'm thinking of visiting I'll bring over a 450D (lighter) but for serious shooting I prefer my 5D MKII, it could be an old camera but I know it won't turn me DownFeedback
Probably I would recommend to choose the right pattern (a brick wall is always a good choice) and of course make sure the model wears something in net contrast with the background. Then check a position where the light is not too harsh but nice and soft. The work is done
