Nestled between some lichen and Crown Coral Fungi here are some fallen needles of Athrotaxis laxifolia. This is a rare species of three conifer endemic to Tasmania.
Widely suspected to be a naturally occurring hybrid of King Billy Pine and Pencil Pine, though evidence of this is thus far inconclusive. It is however undisputably the rarest of the three trees.
