It was a very bright day with a low sun casting some strong shadows. I was walking around the Barbican in London. It's a great place to go and shoot, always so much going on.Time
It was during the afternoon, the sun was getting lower and the shadows getting bigger. It was so bright, perfect for some high contrast black and white photography.Lighting
It was a strong low sun. Not any good for most styles of photography but you need to work with what you have. I felt the long shadows and harsh light were perfect for shots like thisEquipment
This was shot hand heald with a Nikon D800 and Nikon 20mm fixed prime.Inspiration
You need to inspire yourself and work with the conditions you have. I hadn't gone out on this day to shoot anything in particular, I very rearley do.Editing
The photo was processed in Lightroom and silver efex pro. It's had a little sharpening and contrast added and the highlights taken back a bit. Cropped and converted to black and white. In my camera bag
On this day I was travelling light, one DSLR camera and one lens. A D800 and 20mm prime.Feedback
Use bad conditions to your advantage. Bright lowlight can give beautiful shadows. Use them.
