Location
I took this shot at the Jigokudani snow monkey park located in Nagano, Japan.Time
I shot most of the day from early morning to late afternoon, when the monkeys became quite and they started to rest instead of running around.Lighting
This is shot outdoors so it's just natural light.Equipment
I used my Canon gear and Canon lenses especially the 70-200mm f2.8 lens so I wouldn't need to get close to the monkey and I can observe them from far away.Inspiration
I went to the monkey park with the idea of getting many shots of cool monkeys doing their thing, this one just came out of the water and was wet, except for his head and he was just sitting there scratching himself.Editing
I do minimal post-processing for my photos so this is almost like out of the camera. In my camera bag
I use my Canon 80D most often and the 24-105mm f4 IS lens, but sometimes I use a fish-eye lens as well.Feedback
You have to go early when the park opens and there are not many visitors inside, also you have to stay in one place for a few minutes so the animals get used to you, instead of moving around quickly and often.
