Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken along Highway 17E, somewhere between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury, ON at a little rest stop.

Time

This was taken around 7:30am, the sun was rising and it was a beauty of a day.

Lighting

The sun was just starting to come up and the way it fell through the trees I just couldn’t not take the photo.

Equipment

I used my old Nikon point and shoot, no tripod and no other equipment. I have since upgraded :)

Inspiration

We had stopped at a rest stop on our way to the Toronto area to pick up a puppy for my mother-in-law. I got out of the truck and turned around and this was literally the scene before me. I honestly was so mesmerized by it I didn’t want to leave. If memory serves me correct we spent a good 1.5hr just at that rest stop.

Editing

Absolutely zero post processing done.

In my camera bag

I currently carry a Canon Rebel T5 with my 18mm-135mm attached. She’s my “work horse” I also have my 75-300mm zoom lens. I always carry my extra flash along with my remote shutter. Several spare batteries, cleaning cloth, and my heavy duty tripod.

Feedback

For a picture like this, I would say to just watch for the sun rays/ light to peak through and never not take the shot! Always be ready to stop and snap that photo!
