Really great crop of Taughannock Falls!!! Whoever put that little viewing area up on top deserves an award and this photo just nails what it is to stand there and witness this. Nice job.

It's not very often that you see "The perfect shot" but this is one of them, congratulations on a job really well done. This image deserves much more that just a " great shot, or nice shot" the timing is spot on, thank you for letting us see this.

Lighting, composition, exposure, shutter speed, time of day, time of year, subject, point of view- not a single thing lacking. Bravo- very well done, and the awards are just the recognition of what is a superb shot with or without their approval.

Location
This photo was taken at Taughannock Falls State Park in Trumansburg State Park. The creek leads into Cayuga Lake of the New York Finger Lakes.Time
The location is about a 2 hour drive from my home, I woke up early to travel to the Ithaca New York region to visit various waterfalls in the area. Taughannock was my first stop arriving around 8 am on an overcast October day with Autumn in it's prime.Lighting
The day was overcast making it easy for extended exposure of the waterfall to create the silky movement effect.Equipment
Nikon D90 with 18-105mm lens tripod mounted.Inspiration
I first visited this location in January when most of it was iced over, seeing the location first-hand, I knew it would make for a beautiful autumn capture.Editing
Some minor adjustments to enhance the colors due to the dull overcast grey day.In my camera bag
In addition to the camera and 18-105mm lens, a 50mm lens. Also because I frequently shoot waterfalls, a ND x8 and ND x10 Filters. Also remote shutter release to avoid any accidental movement of the camera by manually pressing the shutter release.Feedback
If you want that silky water effect, a good sturdy tripod, ND filters and remote shutter release. The filters will allow you to take longer exposures and the tripod and remote keep your camera from moving and creating blur where you don't want it. Always try to go early, typically better light and less crowds.
