Location
This was shot near the village of Gásadalur in Faroe Islands. The village had been near isolated from the rest of the archipelago until 2004 when a tunnel was blasted through to allow for cars, before that they had to do a streneous hike over the mountains. There was also a really powerful wind when i took this shot with gale force wind gusts, so this made it pretty interesting, if i hadn't secured the tripod it would have been flung of the cliffs into the North Atlantic ocean below.Time
The shot was made at around 11:30 local time, which is far from ideal, but i'm still happy with how the photo turned out.Lighting
The main light source here is the sun, although behind clouds giving a more softer look, the sun was positioned around 90 degrees behind me in this shot.Equipment
On this shot i used a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens on a Canon 6D body mounted on a QZSD Q999 tripod(great quality and weight for the price, perfect for travel) and also a Lee Big Stopper.Inspiration
I had seen photos from this place online, and it was my number 1 priority on this trip to the Faroe Islands. I really like the shape and rugged nature of the cliffs.Editing
The shot is composed of multiple vertical shots, long exposure with the Lee Big Stopper for the waterfall, ocean and parts of the sky. Also color and contrast corrections. In my camera bag
What i usually have in my Lowepro Flipside 400AW is my Canon 6D body + Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM and a Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC. Other stuff include polarizing filters, circular ND filters, Lee Big Stopper, Lee Soft Grad, Wireless Remote Timer Control, Rocket Blower, Lens cloth, extra batteries, extra memory cards and a GoPro Hero 4 Black.Feedback
