Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Storvik, a 30-minute drive from Nordreisa, a small place up in northern Norway.

Time

Picture was taken around 0:30 on the night of Christmas Day.

Lighting

I was out with a buddy to teach him to take Northern Lights Photos, we had to walk about 15 min into the woods before we got away from street lights. and as you can see, we were very lucky with the light.

Equipment

As always i walk around with a Canon :) Canon 6D and a Samyang 14mm F2.8, An old Manfrotto tripod unsure what model.

Inspiration

Since I had never been in Storvika and a buddy wanted to go out to take pictures of the northern lights. I thought that we had to drive there to see if we could find a nice place with no light pollution.

Editing

I used photoshop to remove some artifacts and some tracks on the snow.

In my camera bag

Since my last "interview" I have done some changes to the equipment, replacing my old Manfrotto tripod with a Vanguard alta 233 and bought me a better backpack that has a little more room for equipment. Lowepro Photo Sport 200 AW. Canon 6D, 24-70mm L lens and a Samyang 14mm. An unnamed cable release and some cleaning equipment.

Feedback

Go out and take pictures thats the only way to become a better photographer, and yeah have lots of fun :)
