Oxalis is considered a weed. It is pervasive, growing up between the stems of other plants, quickly covering vast patches of unclaimed garden. But look closely and even this unwanted plant can offer up beauty: the pinwheel effect of its delicate, striped-silk petals, the gentle, off-white hue striking against the backdrop of so many shades of green, the stamens, dusted with pollen, poking from the relative safety of the flower's centre.
