It was a cold February day and my sister was resting on the couch! After a while the sun appeared in between the clouds and reflected it's light through our window unto the couch. My iguana saw the light, climbed the couch and rested his head on my sister's warm head! I knew it was the perfect moment to capture it with my camera!

This photo was taken in my living room, during a family bonding time and was probably the best photo I have taken that year!Time
It was a cold February Friday! I remember it snowed heavily that morning and the snow was so big, but around noon it stopped snowing and the sun showed up! We were getting ready for a late lunch when I shot this photo: February 13th, 2015 at 2:51 PMLighting
There was this beautiful diffuse light coming from a very "anemic" Sun, shining through the living room's window and projected it straight on the couch. No additional lights were used, but the natural light coming from the Sun.Equipment
The image was shot on a modest Canon 450D and my brand new at that time Canon 50mm 1.8 II lens.Inspiration
So me and the family were spending some time together in our living room! And when I say family this includes my big boy Cipi (a 8 year old green iguana). When that diffuse light coming from the Sun hit the couch, my iguana saw it and climbed the couch to get touched by that warming light and warm himself a little bit. Since my sister was resting on the couch as you can see it from the photo, my boy came and rested his head on my sister's warm head and they shared the light together. When I saw them sitting there so peaceful, I knew this is a uniquely beautiful moment and it must be immortalized for eternity. A large and powerful reptile showing so much affection...Editing
The image was post-processed in LightRoom - basic processing: closed the highlights a bit, added a bit of contrast and converted it to B&W and in Photoshop I made some adjustments on my sister's skin.In my camera bag
I don't have a fancy equipment so: for my everyday trip I have my Canon 700D + Sigma 105mm 2.8 Macro lens with me. I love this lens...it is the sharpest lend I've ever had. As a backup I have my old 450D, a Zeiss Sonnar 135mm f3.5 Zebra, a Canon 24mm 2.8 STM for landscapes and that's it.Feedback
Do not waste your shutter's life by photographing everything that moves (or not) you will end up with a bunch of hard drives full of photos that have no emotional charge, photos that doesn't tell a story. It's always better to wait for that moment, take your time and press that shutter wisely. And of course when that moment comes, put your camera in burst mode and press that shutter! You don't wanna miss a thing!
