This photo was taken in our front yard. Our youngest wanted to surf like dad, so living in Austin, Tx we worked with what we had!Time
A hot summer afternoon!Lighting
The sun was shining through scattered clouds, so I noticed these pockets of sparkle and got lucky! I loved the way the light was bouncing off the water.Equipment
This was my old Lumix....a bridge camera. I still love that camera, although this little girl of mine now owns it...she is 10 now.Inspiration
She was having the time of her life for that moment so when she started throwing shaka, I wanted to preserve the moment the best I could. She was just so happy to be "surfing". She has since been really surfing in the ocean and was just as happy.Editing
Other than turning it black and white, I really didn't do much. I didn't know a thing about post production beyond the basics at that point. Not that I know much better now! Lol!In my camera bag
My Canon T3 and my LG G4 phone. I actually got the phone because of the camera.Feedback
When you see that magical light outside, just go for it. I try not to look at my photos so seriously but just go with my gut. I am learning all the time and make mistakes all the time. Lol. But finding that sparkle, that moment to preserve is where the magic lies the most strongly for me. This particular photo isn't my best technically, but it is definitely one that says allot about the moment, which is sometimes more important in my mind.
