Location
I took this photo in Havasupai, Arizona. I went with a large group including my sister and mom. We left early in the morning in order to beat the heat on the ten mile hike down the canyon. Oh but it was worth it.Time
This was taken in the middle of the day.Lighting
Since this was taken in harsh lighting I kept a low ISO and quick shutter speed.Equipment
I use a Canon Rebel T3i with a kit lens.Inspiration
We were hiking down into the canyon around 2-3 am and the stars were magnificent. I didn't pack a tripod but I knew I was never going to forget that night. A few hours later we come across a small village, but that wasn't our final destination. A few of the group members were feeling tired and discouraged but we kept pressing forward. "Almost there. Almost there. Few more miles." We turn the corner and there it was. The most beautiful waterfall I've ever seen. I took the chance to stop and take this shot. Out of the whole trip of waterfalls, goofing off, swimming and hiking, this was my favorite.Editing
I typically sharpen the image a little to make it more dramatic. In my camera bag
I always carry my 70-200mm Tamron lens. It's my favorite lens and I can't take a trip without it. I also keep a spare battery and SD card in case I forget one at home. Helps to stay prepared!Feedback
Go on trips to amazing places! Take a group. Take a friend. Go on an adventure. The hardest part is starting. Never stop taking pictures.
