this is a very handsome snail, its very cool that the total focus is on this snail and nothing else

Who thought it was easy photographing snails is wrong, they suddenly move so fast when you point a camera at them :-) you captured this one very nicely!

Cool shot, but I believe that 1/1250 sec or whatever shutter speed used isn't what we would call a long exposure.
Was the snail still alive when you shot it? Very cool indeed!!

Location
This snale was sitting on the white painted window frame of our house. It was a very tiny snale, just a few millimeters tall...Time
I took this photo on a beautiful sunday morning.Lighting
I didn't use a flash, the sun was shining sideways on the snale. Because she was so small, the light was shining right through her.Equipment
The photo was taken by hand, without a flash with my Lumix DMC-TZ60.Inspiration
I am allways inspired by small or everyday subjects, when I saw this tiny creature on the white window frame, I realised that it would be easy to create a photo where she would be isolated from the background.Editing
I did some post processing to clean up the dirt from the window frame and the snale. I also enhanced the colours of the the snale and played a bit with the clarity and light. I used a very easy to use program; Picasa. In my camera bag
I only have a Lumix DMC TZ60, all my photos are taken with this little miracle of a camera. It shows that you don't need an expensive camera with a lot of equipment to take photos of good quality. The best thing of this camera is that it is very easy to take with you, because it practically fits in your back pocket. I am saving money to buy something professional though, cause it will open new possibilities for sure and I am allways looking for new challenges...Feedback
The only advice I can give you is look around you for all the wonders the world has to offer, enjoy the beauty of the world we live in... For me capturing nice shots is a matter of trying to isolate nice subjects without forgetting the whole picture... The choice of a background is very important to put the subject in a context or to make it stand out better. Try to get an angle as low as possible to the subject and try not to stand in the light.Take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one later. Once you open your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I always crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop and edit the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
