Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in a private pool in Newburyport Ma.

Time

I took the photo late in the day. I needed to wait until the pool was covered in shadows

Lighting

Nothing special, I just had to wait for open shade, being in the water with the dog in would have been hard to manipulate the light

Equipment

I used a Lumix ts30.

Inspiration

I was doing a story on Dogs and dog owners, and was taking photos of the dogs swimming from outside the pool, after I got what I needed I grab my Lumix, which is waterproof and jump in to swim with the dogs

Editing

Nothing special, I'm a journalist so I don't usually do much except cropping and dodging and burning

In my camera bag

A shoot with 2 Nikon a D600, and A D500, 17-35, 100 macro, 6mm fisheye and a 70-200 2.8. a couple flashes, my Lumix. notebook pencils and a book to read for down time, in my car I always have rain gear, extra socks, shorts, a sweater, a 150-500mm
