I was snorkeling so the light was very diffuse for the most partEquipment
Canon 50D, Canon 24-105mm lens, EWA Marine underwater housingInspiration
It was so beautiful snorkeling in the clear waters off of Kona, HI and then this young sea turtle swam by so I just had to take advantage of the moment to take the pictureEditing
I altered the white balance since the image was very blue.In my camera bag
Canon 5DM3, Canon IDMIV, and an IR converted 7D, 16-35mm lens, 15mm fisheye, 24-105mm lens, 70-200mm lens, 500mm lens and a 100mm macro. I use a Feisol Tripod with a BH-55 ballheadFeedback
Having a camera with you when snorkeling is always a great idea but if you take your slr with you make sure you use a good waterproof housing. EWA Marine bags are an inexpensive way to get into the water with your camera but always make sure you check the seals before you get in. Make sure your lens is set to its widest and your ISO is high enough. Choose a middle aperture and a fast shutter speed. Try to float near the turtle but not get in its way.
