Location
This was taken out in my front yard. It was a single rose from a rosebush that yields so few blooms; this one was a surprise and a real beauty.Time
If memory serves, it was sometime in the morning. That's usually when I get the best light, as the shadows provide great contrast. In this case, it was cloudy, which also works better for photos.Lighting
I always try to find relatively shady conditions when I shoot plants after the rain. In this case, I had lucked out and the clouds gave me what I was looking for, as the darker conditions brought out all the water droplets. Bright sunlight is beautiful, but it does tend to distract in other photos while it does spectacularly in others.Equipment
This was shot on a Fuji Finepix S5200. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
My mother really wanted a shot of this rose (it's her rose bush, after all!), so I obliged. I'm glad I did.Editing
No post processing was done.In my camera bag
I used to own the Fuji Finepix S5200, but that has been given to my mother, and I now own a Canon EOS 4000D.Feedback
Look for the light that captures each detail (I'm big on the details.) Oh, and when your mother wants a shot of that flower, go for it. You never know what you'll get.
