Gorgeous colour splash. I love it. Lighting and contrast is beautiful. A story can be told here with the emotion alone. The eyes are very grabbing and the costume is complimentary. I was wondering if you wanted to enter this into my photo challenge called Your Haunting Portraits.

Location
I took this photo in my small apartment. Better said, in my bedroom! Since i don´t have a room for a studio free anymore i just moved a few things in this small room. For portraits like this - no problem! Im limited but i get creative.Time
It was quite late - around 6 in the evening. We needed quite some time for the makeup. All was done just by my designer friend and me. She creates awesome headpieces and im pretty good in makeup too. So i spend some time to colour her face with bodypaint colours.Lighting
With lack of place i just used a one light setup.Equipment
I used a big softbox overhead and a big reflektor under the model. The room was full but she had her face really nice lighted. I took the shot with a 5dmarkII and the canon 70-200 2.8Inspiration
We don´t look much for other stuff. We just orientate on colours wich we want to use. We have a white dress and headpiece. Red would give a nice contrast. Why not makeing a mask? And hup the idea was made. I can work really sponteanous and get creative. I like to make things homogen looking with some kicks on the right spots.Editing
Yes i did! I cleaned up the makeup. The white paint can get really blotchy and crease on some areas. On such a close portrait its really needed to get rid of any distracting areas. I try to keep everything as natural as possible and i like also to leave some "mistakes" that you still feel that it´s a photograph and not just born in photoshop. In my camera bag
Camera: Canon 5dmarkII Lenses: Canon 35 mm 1.4, Canon 50 mm 1.4, Sigma 85 mm 1.4, Canon 100 mm 2.8, Canon 70-200mm 2.8Feedback
Use soft and homogen light. Keeping the shadows away helps to create nice white tones. Just be carefull to don´t loose any details. Always check your histogram! Be creative!
