First of all thank you for your likes. I am glad that my picture makes you curious, that means it is someting with it.
The man it is alive of course, but I poured on him with flour. I added the flour for a rocky effect and the partial light to pop-up the white zone, to make it more dramatic. I took that picture in my backyard in complete darkness, with a simple desk lamp with a black cardboard twisted on it.
I wanted to send the feeling of that kind of pain that makes us petified and freezes us. I put him with arms crossed as a simbol of self-protection, a dramatic one... like a last gesture. I think my intention was to put a feeling in a image, that is why I took the picture like that.
I hope I did answer to your question. Maybe my english is not quite clear but please, feel free to ask more, I am glad to try.

would've loved the expression he have in the horizontal photo with this pose. that would've created a lot more of the dramatic feeling you get from both of the photos. at least that's what i think. great job with the lighting and the angle! side note: i love both of them separately too. (Y)

Thank you! Yes, I think we can be creative with what we have. It is not the camera , it is the vision of photographer :)
