Really cool shot! Love it! I loved it even more when I first saw it in your slideshow all I could see was from right below the nose up - it is awesome! You should crop and check it out!

Your clear focus on the face allows the viewer to focus on the same and to see (something, at least) of what you saw. The close crop makes for a strong composition and supports your intent to control what and how the viewer sees this. That’s real design. (I don’t get into most portraits; I like this one very much.)
