So creative! This photo has a surreal, sexy and sadness about it. Most moving photo I've seen in a long time!

Location
I took this photo in my small home office.Time
I remember coming up with this idea throughout the day and shooting at around 8:30 PM that night. I believe the correct time of night is on the clock that's featured in the image.Lighting
I wanted to create a singular overhead light source to give my image a darker feeling to invoke he sense of loneliness I wanted to potray.Equipment
I used a Canon Mark II 5D with 24mm-105mm lens. I used the Profoto B1 500 AirTTL for my over head light source.Inspiration
This photo was inspired by the time I have spent away from my husband through many deployments overseas. We went through four years of being apart and for me, getting creative by using photography helped me express my emotions during this trying time.Editing
I primarily use Photoshop for my post processing. For this image I had to composite a couple images together to get the right look to my dress and the background. I also used a few overlays to get the effect I wanted. In my camera bag
No matter what I always have my go to lenses which include my canon 85 mm 1.2, my 50mm 1.2 and my 24-105mm. I use a Canon 600ex speed light, and of course canon 1DX.Feedback
I would recommend only using one light source to create the shadow and contrast effect that gives off a specific mood and emotion. When capturing a self-portrait I recommend taking several shots so you have plenty of options when compositing them together.
