The photo was taken in my country house in Tomar, Portugal.Time
This photo was taken on January 11, 2014 after lunch, around 2p.m. It was a sunny cold day, my favorite days to get inspired.Lighting
The only light I had was from the daylight, that day, the sun was very shiny and the acorn was at the right place at the right time.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS 600D, with an 18-55mm f/3.5 lens.Inspiration
When I was walking at the park, I wanted to take a photo of something diferent, something that I could work on it (post-processing) to apply some tips I have learned. So when I saw the lonely fallen acorn waiting to be catched and surrounded by wet and green grass, fallen leafs and broken branches, instantly I saw the perfect photo to manipulate the way I wanted. The sense of Autumn coming, the loneliness that sometimes winter can be and how beautifull nature can be. Nature inspires me in many ways, the colors, the shapes, the lights, the personal interpretation of life.Editing
Yes, I did. My inicial idea was to itensify the colors, but suddenly in my mind I saw winter,I could give the feeling of winter trough this photo. With only black and white I was able to create a more beautiful and cold environment. In my camera bag
Every time I get outside, I wont leave without my Canon 600D and my 18-55mm f/3.5 lens. But always in my bag in case I need I have an 50mm f1.8 and an 70-300mm f/4-5,6 DG Macro lens.Feedback
Just look for all that surrounds you, get inspired for little or big things, see beyond what meets the eye. The good moments or things to capture normally are in front of us.
