Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. I walked the lake everyday for years (over 3.500 miles over time), which provided plenty of opportunity for photographs.

Time

I would walk the lake at 5 every morning and then again at 10 that night. This gave me time to get the best shots of the day. This was taken at 5 one morning and the light and fog worked perfectly for this shot.

Lighting

This was just the luck of the day, soft light of a new day.

Equipment

Hand held Nikon.

Inspiration

I liked the solitude that the boat represented on the quiet, not yet awake lake.

Editing

No post processing on this photo. This is just as taken.

In my camera bag

I have my normal everyday lens and then a 500mm for any bird or animal shots as it is needed.

Feedback

I take a lot of pictures, but only share a few. No one needs to see the many that I take to get the one great shot. That is my secret.
