Location
This photo was taken at the Christmas House Inn in Rancho Cucamonga, CA at Jennifer and Timothy's beautiful wedding!Time
This photo was taken in the late afternoon, just before the couple's sunset wedding ceremony photo.Lighting
Jennifer, our bride was perfectly lit from the open windows around her. No extra lights were needed for this one.Equipment
I shot this with a Canon 6D, 24-70mm, no other equipment was used.Inspiration
I love the anticipation you feel when waiting with a bride or groom before their ceremony. The anxious excitement knowing their life will change before the day is over. I wanted to capture that moment in a thoughtful way. Outside the window she is looking out of is the pathway to her ceremony, her future.Editing
I always shoot RAW, so I did the normal sharpening and brought down the high lights just a little and increased the contrast, and obviously turned the image to a black and white. There is something timeless to me about black and white photos when used in the right context. In my camera bag
I always have two Canon 6Ds, a 24-70mm, a 70-200mm, and my 100mm macro lens. I also always have two flashes, and two video lights, and of course extra batteries and SD cards!Feedback
When doing these bridal portraits be sure to plan ahead. Scope out a location, the lighting and surroundings before asking your bride to pose. You do not want your bride waiting around for you to declutter a space, or set up lighting.
