Brilliant shoot and phototures, fantastic capture, this should be a winner, you can not get right, with 50mm lens at the wedding, when you take all family members, one few will spoil the shoot, even if you have taken 10 shots, sounds like these mogooes, wanted a family shoot!

Thank you, most people do not realize how rare of a sighting this is. They are not like meerkats where this behavior is seen more often.

It was taken in Sabi Sands, South Africa - banded mongoose are quite common there, but rarely seen like in this photo

I have tried for years to get a single picture of a banded mongoose in focus. We were driving along on a dirt road. We went up a rise and around a corner and there was this entire business of mongoose (that is what it is called) in the middle of the road. I picked up my camera and took as many shots as I could. They quickly retreated and scattered. To see something like this is very unusual as they are not like the more commonly known meerkats we see on TV.Editing
This was shot in raw, so basic sharpening, working levels, contrast, etc was done.In my camera bag
When traveling in Africa, I have 3 Canon bodies, two 7Ds and a Canon 5D III. The lenses I carry and use the most are 400 DO, 100-400L, 70-200 2.8 L II.Feedback
Always be prepared ! Make sure the ISO is set properly for the amount of lighting because it can change while shooting wildlife. You never know what can be around the next corner.
