Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my apartment! The baby is actually sitting on my kitchen table.

Time

My friend had brought her cute little baby over for a visit on a lazy afternoon. He was being so good, we decided to try a photoshoot!

Lighting

My kitchen has a huge window that fills the room with lots of beautiful natural light. It's all we needed!

Equipment

This photo was shot on my canon 7D

Inspiration

I collect vinyl records, which is an interest I share with this little cutie's daddy. We decided to surprise dad with a music related photo of his baby, so I grabbed a stack of records and some headphones and this is what happened!

Editing

The little fella wasn't quite able to sit up on his own yet, so mom actually had to keep one hand on his back to hold him up and I photoshopped her harm out.

In my camera bag

My two favorite lenses are my canon 70-200 and my 25mm pancake lens. I always have them with me in my bag. I'm a big fan of the small battery powered LED lights as well! They really come in handy, especially if you're shooting somewhere with no power!

Feedback

There really wasn't much to this other than making sure baby was safe and being patient with him! Photoshop skills really came in handy to create the illusion that he could sit up!
