Location
This photo was taken in Yosemite National park, California which is around 3 hours drive from home.Although this beautiful place is very close to may house I could manage to be there only two times.Time
This image was taken in the late afternoon when the sun was about to setLighting
This is one of my all time favorite photo.Being there and standing in front of this narrow stream ,feeling fresh air was really a awesome experience. I tried to capture the afternoon glow reflected on the mountain from setting sun along with this beautiful stream. The lighting was not very easy to capture because the lower part of the image was very dark compared to the upper side.I need to use GND filter to overcome this problem.Equipment
I used Canon 600D, mounted with an Canon 10-22 lens. To stabilize the image I use tripod as the 10-22 lens don't have IS feature. I also used Soft edge GND filter to neutralize the bright upper section. To avoid camera shake I used wired remote.Inspiration
For a long time I was planing to capture a place having mountain ,river, reflection, golden hour everything a landscape photographer wished for. This picture fulfill my dream.Editing
The photo was taken in RAW mode, and I did some post processing in Lightroom-5 ,mainly some light adjustments .After that I used PS CS6, to manually sharpen the specific part of the image using high pass filter. In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon D610 with me ,mounted with an ultra wide lens (Nikon 18-35 or rokinon 14mm).You will always find me with tripod because I don't want to loose any picture due to shake.Feedback
Yosemite has a lot of geographic variation which cause uneven lighting through out the valley. It is a great idea to use GND filter whenever required and taking multiple exposure of same composition which will allow one to balace the light while post processing by means of exposure fusion /HDR
