Behind The Lens

Location

The image was taken at Mt Wilson in the Blue Mountains of NSW, Australia

Time

Early morning

Lighting

Misty cold weather helped with the lighting and the sun hadn't risen to high yet.

Equipment

Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20, Tripod mounted.

Inspiration

The tones of the forest combined with the misty air. And the fact that I love the mountians and the fresh air it brings.

Editing

The image is made up of 3 shots stitched together in photoshop, a slight amount of contrast was added after the stitching process.There was a fence running through the image and that was cloned out

D300s and D700 / Tamron 24-70 2.8 / Sigma 70-200 2.8 / Sigma 10-20 / Sigma 50-500 / Various lee filters / 2 SB 600's and 1 SB 910 / Sekonic Lightmaster Pro L478DR / Rouge lightbender.

Feedback

Get out early to get the low lying mist, always use a tripod and expose for the highlights as the shadows will even themselves out through the mist.
