Location
I took this photo in the abandoned railstation in Petrinja, Croatia.Time
It was 7pmLighting
Lightning was fairly ok at 7pm because it was june, but I did put speedlight to use just to avoid unnecesary noise on camera I used back then.Equipment
Camera was Canon 600d with 18-55 kit lens and flash Canon speedlight 430ex ii.Inspiration
This was shortly after i got my first dslr and i didn't do any photography with models besides my girlfriend, so this was aranged more like a practise session. There was no planning and everything was just going with the flow.Editing
I did some cropping, basic retouching and some burning on edges and background. After that i put on top of it subtle pro contrast from Color efex. As far as I remember, the final touch was in lightroom 4.0 with some preset, exported to DNG then placed back in Photoshop and adjusted opacity and blending mode.In my camera bag
Now i have Canon 6d, 24-105L f4, 85mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8, canon speedlight 430ex and yongnuo 586ex ii, yn trancievers, some gels and bunch of accessories.Feedback
As I mentioned before, this was more like a practice session and nowdays i'm working in a bit different way. But i still relly plenty on my improvisation skills and use them alot, mostly because i don't have time for photography as much i need and i can't afford complicated planning. My advice is to set goals and try to visualise finished photo. Prepare yourself as much you can (clothes, make up, location etc.), think about the atmosphere you want to achieve and communicate with model (listen to her/his suggestion). And be relaxed :)
