Stunning capture of the subject, with the intriguing reflection in her sunglasses. Nicely posed. Strong!

Location
This was taken in a buddy of mine's loft in Oakland, Calif. I was just starting out in learning portrait and fashion photography.Time
It was in the afternoon. Not exactly sure what time.Lighting
I used two Canon 580ex strobes with 4x5 softboxes camera left and right, high.Equipment
Camera was a Canon 7D with a Canon 85mm 1.8. Two Canon 580ex strobes.Inspiration
A friend willing to be my guinea pig as I learned lighting. Then I had an idea to edit it this way from seeing another image.Editing
Lots. It image of the car in the glasses was added in Photoshop. I contoured her face a bit and changed the color of her eyes. Then I tried a bunch of other things until I got what I liked. In my camera bag
Right now I have a Canon 5D MKIII, 24-70 2.8L II, 16-35 2.8L II, 70-200 2.8L, 85mm 1.8, 100 macro. Canon ex580II, and a 430exIIFeedback
Just keep shooting and playing around. Look at the work of others and try to emulate those you like, then add your own flare as you get more comfortable. Practice, practice, practice.
