While out for a walk with my dog (I always have my camera), I was looking for insects to take photos of. I had my macro lens that day. I found this bee type bug. I've never seen a bee with eyes like this before. So I took his picture.Time
This was taken at 11:00am on August 7th last summer. I live out in the woods on a lake and love my morning walk with my dog and my camera.Lighting
This was shot in natural daylight.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Canon 5D Mark III, EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens at f/4.0, 1/800 sec., ISO 320.Inspiration
I love all kinds of photography. I love my camera and I love Photoshop. My true passion is compositing and I am always on the lookout to add photos to my files in hopes that they will come in handy in a future composite.Editing
This particular image did not require a lot of post processing. I always reduce noise and adjust color as well as a bit of sharpeningIn my camera bag
It depends what I'm going out to shoot. I always have my Mark III, of course! I only bring a tripod if I'm going for landscapes, sunsets, or long exposures. I shoot with prime lenses only. I have 7, ranging from 14mm to 200mm. I'll usually have them all in the car, but may only take 2 or 3 with me, depending on what I'm doing. I may also bring a flash.Feedback
Patience! Trying to capture macro images of insects can be challenging. They move around, fly away and, with a shallow depth of field, getting the right focus is difficult. Just keep trying and, eventually, it will pay off!
