Location
I took this photo on a hiking trail in Huntsville, Ontario Canada.Time
I started my hike around noon and when I arrived at this collection of trees it was 1:44 pm. I looked up, and because it was already October, I was pleasantly surprised to still see some green on the branches mixed in with the yellows, oranges, and reds.Lighting
To be honest, this was a scene that I just stumbled across and I was lucky to have some clouds covering the harsh sunlight but still have that magnificent blue sky showing itself.Equipment
I used a Conon EOS Rebel XSi with the standard 18-55mm lens. I did not use a tripod or the flash.Inspiration
I recall hearing a woodpecker and so I looked up to find it and instead I found this view. With that blue sky contrasting almost all the orange in the photo I wanted to capture the beauty. Although I did not end up finding and photographing the woodpecker, I was very happy to find this beauty hiding right above my head.Editing
I did not do any editing to this photograph. In my camera bag
I always have my camera, of course, which has switched from the Canon to a Nikon D60. I'm only an amateur photographer so I really only carry that, the standard 18-55mm lens that came with it, a 55-200mm lens and extra batteries and memory cards.Feedback
Always look around you from every angle possible. Lay on the ground and see what it's like from down there. Climb a tree stump or tree and see what the same area looks like from above. Just don't forget to look up or you could pass up scenery like this one :)
