Shoot at night - it's very exciting! For night shooting in advance select a point earlier in the day, because in the dark it will be hard to do. Install the Manual mode on your camera (M), turn off the autofocus and set the focus manually - for such scenes are usually set it to infinity. Your task is to extend the maximum shutter speed and avoid overexposure. Therefore, ISO is set the minimum and gradually closing the aperture, making test shots come to this aperture value to the shutter speed was the maximum length - 30 seconds. This can also be done in aperture priority mode A or Av - it disable the Auto ISO mode, manually set ISO to the minimum value that allows your camera, and then close the aperture and watch how the shutter speed changing. Close the aperture until the shutter will not be 30 seconds. When too much light and even completely closed aperture shutter speed cannot be achieved in 30 seconds - use a neutral density filter. I usually use the ND 1000 B+W. I wish you good luck!
