I almost got a shot similar to this but the bird was too quick for me haha, excellent work.

Location
this was taken in a village very local to my hometown..Time
it was taken in the morningLighting
the birds decided to feast on a couple of bushes that were in the middle of a busy shopping precinct..so i was very lucky with the backgrounds..lots of big grey buildings...Equipment
nikon d300s camera with a nikon 500mm f4p manual lens and a nikon 1.4 converter..Inspiration
i love waxwings and we only get to see them for a few weeks every year so i always listen to reports and head out to them if they are convenient..Editing
most of my images go into lightroom but i usually only tweak the contrast and add slight sharpness...In my camera bag
nikon d300 and d300s body..nikon 500mm f4..nikon 24 70mm..nikon 105mm macro..nikon 70 200mm vr1..nikon sb700 flash..bushnell 8 x 42 binoculars..Feedback
try not to get too close too soon...take a few pictures of your subject then slowly move forward taking a few pictures every time..
