Behind The Lens

Location

I took it on one of my nightly walks with my husky pup, Luffy, in Springfield, Oregon. I try to take him for a couple of daily walks when I can and I am always on the lookout for new opportunities to take pictures. It's kind of the perfect chance for taking all of my pictures for me. This one, we were on the way back home and I looked back and saw this dark and moody scene. I thought the clouds in the sky and the very tall and dark pine trees in the background made the streetlight highlighting the street look even spookier and I just got a creepy vibe from it all and I thought it was awesome!

Time

It was probably around 8 or 9pm pst.

Lighting

I just liked the way everything highlighted the only path to the street and that the path was so dark in comparison to the street lamp. I kind of wish that the vehicle wasn't there but in the end I think it helps the whole image.

Equipment

This was shot on my Samsung Galaxy S22. I hope to be able get a better camera in the coming year! I have plans to get one in just a few short months.

Inspiration

I let my adhd do the inspiring, LOL! No, really I just walk around and am inspired by the beauty of the things around me and the different vibes that different scenes give off to me and then I pop out my phone and start snapping away. I go through my pictures later and decide which ones I think look the best and the edit them to look even better.

Editing

I do! I don't actually do very much post-processsing BUT I absolutely love this one app that I have been using for years now and it is even free! It is just called Photo Editor too. Super simple and super simple post-processing features for all of my images. Occasionally I will use one or two other apps I have to add different filters if needed or do different processes that my main app does not do.

In my camera bag

Just whatever phone I have available at the time. Sometimes I will even have my wife send me an image or two off of her phone if mine is dead or something. We both have the S22 though.

Feedback

Just keep your head on a swivel and always be on the lookout for the next image. Try to have SOME sort of equipment with you to take pictures at all times if you can. It doesn't have to be super fancy or amazing stuff to take a breathtaking image either. With some luck and even just a tiny bit of creativity, you can make magic happen!
