This photo was taken in NYC. It was birthday and as an own present i bought two tickets to fly above this awesome city with my father. btw was my first time shooting from a heli.Time
this photo was taken around 5:00 pm.Lighting
it was my first time shooting from a helicopter so i watched a lot of videos on youtube looking for some advices. lighting was really tough that day because the ride was after a thunder storm and it was really dark. so i went really high with my ISO (around 5000-6000).Equipment
SONY ILCE-7M3 TAMRON 17-28Inspiration
The magic that NYC has inspired me to take this photo. It was my first time in a helicopter ride and i wanted to enjoy that moment with my father so this photo means a lot to me.Editing
My goal was to do a dramatic look to this photo taking advantage of the storm and the dark clouds and I did a cinematic color grade in photoshop. In my camera bag
my sony a7r3 and the sony 35mm 1.8 are my favorite combo so they're always in my bag. ( really lightweight combo).Feedback
Just enjoy the moment and have fun shooting from above. of course watch a lot of videos to see some advices about settings. from my experience go with a high shutter speed and try to compensate with a high ISO if its in similar conditions as my photo. (sunset and after a thunder storm).
