Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on the terrace of my home, of my flowering plants.

Time

I took this photo when we had been staying at home for a month due to COVID-19, that changed my schedules and activities, and I must say that in this case for something pleasant, like having my breakfast on the terrace, before work at home. It was 9:15, when I was looking at how beautifully my plants had bloomed, which inspired me to take this photo.

Lighting

The lighting was completely natural, the time of day (in the morning) was favorable, there was enough light but without being too intense.

Equipment

It was taken with a Sony DSC-H300 camera, with a 13mm focal length. There was no other team involved

Inspiration

When I got closer to see the small flowers, I could see some details in conjunction with the lights and shadows that I found beautiful. Although they were small flowers, the zoom with the camera allowed to reveal more details of them.

Editing

Yes, the photo has two stages of processing (in a photographic editor). First a color enhancement and a small adjustment of the curve of Light levels and in a second stage a double exposure composition with the same image but one of them overlay as a specular image.

In my camera bag

I carry with me my only two pieces of equipment which are a Sony DSC-H300 camera, 35x optical lens and a Canon Rebel SL2 camera, with a 55-250mm lens, for photos of distant objects.

Feedback

I think anyone can take a photo like this, the key is natural light, which exists depending on the time of day and the combination with the shadow in the place where the object is to be taken. The perspective of the photo is also important to obtain a certain symmetry, especially if you already plan to make a double exposure composition.
