I took the photos for this photo collage in my 1910 Craftsman dining room. I like backgrounds that set a mood instead of just being a backdrop.Time
I took these photos in the early morning. I practice yoga here often. So I knew that the effect I wanted would be perfect in the softer morning light.Lighting
I love the way the spring light coming in from the east glows behind me. Softer than afternoon light but just enough to offer a soft silhouette.Equipment
These are all taken with my iPhone 10 with a 10 second timer. No flash.Inspiration
I am a blogger. I needed a series of photos for the yoga journaling aspect of my online subscriptions. I have practiced yoga for almost 25 years but needed shots I could manipulate for marketing purposes.Editing
Yes. Each shot was individual. I adjusted the photos within my computer photos app. Then I put them into a collage for a more dramatic effect, positioning them to face inward and center the eye to the balancing photo in the middle. In my camera bag
Although I have an older Nikon D100 and a 28-80mm and 70-210mm lens. I didn’t use it for these shots. I wanted them to have a more “in the moment” feel.Feedback
I encourage people to shoot with whatever they have available. Bracket lighting. Try different setups. Have fun. Don’t take the process too seriously. Especially if the shot is something you can recreate again. Try your idea. See if it works. If it doesn’t, try a new approach.
