Location
This is was taken off of a beach on Kure Beach, North Carolina. It’s about 30 minutes outside of Wilmington, NC.Time
This photo was taken closer to sunset. I remember being on the beach and noticing that there was a mist coming from the ocean in the wind. It was a beautiful day.Lighting
This photo was backlit by the sun. With the sand being reflective, i really didn’t need much light to fill in for the face.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Nikon D610 and Tamron 24-70 mm lens.Inspiration
I didn’t really have any inspiration other than that I wanted to think outside of the box. I wanted to try something different; a little more creative.Editing
Lightroom is my absolute go-to for editing as well as tribe archipelago presets. There wasn’t really any editing required. I brought shadows up a hair, edited a few acne spots out, and brought highlights down.In my camera bag
I typically carry both my Nikon D610 and D7100. Lens - Tamron 24-70 mm and Tamron 70-200 mm along with my Nikon SB600 lens. Also, I have my dual camera strap provided by Anders and Lee.Feedback
Don’t be afraid to shoot in harsh lighting. It can be quite intimidating. Follow the light and just have fun with it! You learn by messing up and correcting it.
