Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, USA.

Time

A little after sunset.

Lighting

I was hoping to see some nice colors in the sky during the sunset and I got rewarded with this amazing purple glow of the last light of the sun above this breathtaking waterfall.

Equipment

This photo was shot on my Nikon d7100, with my 24mm f1.4 sigma lens.

Inspiration

Before going here I did some research about this waterfall and the best spots for amazing views. Combining this with sunset hour, resulted in the perfect shot of the rim and waterfall together with a beautiful purple sky.

Editing

Very little. I increased the vibrance and lit up the sky.

In my camera bag

My Nikon d7100 body, 14-24mm f2.8 sigma, 24mm f1.4 sigma and 18-250mm f3.5/6.3, gorillapod and normal tripod

Feedback

Do a lot of research about the place you're going to photograph and use apps like google earth, Photopills, Viewbug, 500px, Instagram for inspiration.
