Dawn, a time of renewal, a time to start over, a golden time. Indeed for photographers it truely is a magical time - the light in that short window, known as 'The Golden Hour' is some of the best light of the day. Its the reason many a landscape photographer is up at stupid O'Clock when others are snug and warm in bed!

Jökulsárlón Beach, also known as the 'Ice Beach' is famous across the world for its black sand and washed up ice. This is is released from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and slowly makes it way through the lagoon and out to sea. But the ocean here is relentless and powerful, and pushes the ice back to the beach where it is crash about, eventually melted away. It might calm here, but this beach is renowned camera killer, with people rushing to avoid getting wet whilst shooting and leaving tripods behind. The ocean takes no prisoners!
