Behind The Lens

Location

Shot this at the Alpine Texas Municipal Airport.

Time

This was taken September 29, 2018, 4:30 PM.

Lighting

Totally front lit by the sun.

Equipment

This was shot with my Sony A6500, using a Sony 18-135mm 3.5-5.6 lens.

Inspiration

I was at home when I heard the sound of radial airplane engine overhead, ran outside to see a flight of three AT-6s' in formation heading toward the airport. Grabbed my cameras jumped in the car and headed for the airport. The pilots were heading home from a AT-6 gathering at a private ranch and would overnight in Alpine.

Editing

In lightroom I cropped to 16x9 pulled down some highlights and opened up the shadows on the engine, also pulled down the blue luminance channel to darken the sky, its my favorite slider it works like a polarizing filter.

In my camera bag

All Sony, the a6500 with the above mentioned 18-135, 10-18 f4, 24 f1.8, 70-200 f4.

Feedback

Have your kit ready to go at all times.
