Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in a pasture behind my house in Alpine Texas.

Time

This was a cold morning, January 2nd 2019, after an overnight ice storm.

Lighting

The morning was very overcast so I used a on camera flash with diffuser to add some pop.

Equipment

Camera was my Sony a7II with the Sony 50mm 2.8 macro lens. The flash was a Godox TT350. Hand held.

Inspiration

Ice was covering everything, it was a winter wonderland. I was drawn to the shapes of ice on a mesquite tree branch.

Editing

Minimal processing in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

All Sony, a7II, a6500, RX100 IV. Lenses for the a7 are 12~24 f4, 24~70 f4, 70~200 f4. for the a6500 I mostly use the 18~135 f3.5~5.6, 24 f1.8 and 10~18 f4.

Feedback

Dress warm.
